 Best Naruto villains, ranked

In the Naruto universe, there are brave heroes who fight for peace and protect their friends. But there are also powerful villains who make the story more exciting and interesting with the threat they pose. These villains challenge the heroes and make them stronger.

These villains have fascinating stories and a valid reason for their actions. With their amazing abilities and cool powers, these bad guys have become fan favorites. They bring a lot of excitement and suspense to the Naruto series, making it even more enjoyable for everyone.

10/10 Zabuza Momochi

Zabuza Momochi

Zabuza Momochi, though not the strongest villain, holds a special place in Naruto fans' hearts. As the first significant antagonist, he hooked millions of viewers to the show. His cool design, powerful sword, and heartfelt backstory made him a captivating character.

Despite being a villain, Zabuza evoked sympathy and admiration. The emotional impact of his fight with Team 7, especially the touching scene with Haku, remains unforgettable. Zabuza's legacy as a villain is undeniable, leaving a lasting impression on the fanbase.

9/10 Kabuto Yakushi

Strongest Naruto villains

He was just Orochimaru's helper and not very powerful. But later in the series, things changed. After Orochimaru died, Kabuto did something risky. He fused himself with Orochimaru's remains and became much stronger.

He looked more like a snake, and his Chakra became different too, making Kabuto a really dangerous enemy. If Itachi and Sasuke hadn't stopped him, he could have hurt or killed many important characters.

8/10 Gaara

Gaara in Naruto

Initially seen as a villain, Gaara captivated viewers with his control over sand and his ruthless nature. His effortless defeat of Dosu showcased his immense power. Gaara's tragic past, marked by torment from his father and the Sand Village, along with his possession of a powerful inner beast, evoked sympathy.

His relatable personality allowed the audience to deeply connect with his struggles. Over time, Gaara transformed from a villain to a hero, ultimately becoming the Kazekage, solidifying his status as a compelling character.

7/10 Deidara

Deidara

As a member of the Akatsuki, Deidara is recognized for his expressive personality and distinct talents. With mouths on his hands and chest, he possesses the ability to mold and animate explosive clay. Deidara collaborated with Sasori on the mission to capture Kazekage Gaara, which resulted in the loss of one of his arms.

During his escape from Kakashi Hatake, he suffered the loss of another arm, but both were later reattached. Deidara's final demise occurred while attempting to assassinate Sasuke Uchiha after Sasuke departed from Orochimaru's organization.

6/10 Orochimaru

Orochimaru

He is one of the most powerful ninjas in Naruto and is known for his dark ambitions and experiments. As one of the legendary Sannin, he seeks immortality and performs gruesome tests on people and himself.

At first, he appears irredeemable, but as the story unfolds, we learn that there is some goodness in him, even though it's small. Surprisingly, towards the end of Naruto Shippuden, Orochimaru goes through a change and finds redemption, becoming a more complex and interesting character.

5/10 Itachi Uchiha

Most powerful Naruto villains

He was a smart and thoughtful kid from an early age. Itachi knew how to handle different situations and acted maturely for his age. He liked to watch and learn from people without getting too close to them.

This helped him see things clearly and make fair judgments. Even though he didn't actively seek friendships, he unintentionally gained many friends and admirers because of his caring nature towards others.

4/10 Nagato Uzumaki

Nagato Uzumaki

Also known as Pain, Nagato was a remarkable and one of the strongest Naruto villains. He led the Akatsuki and was manipulated by Obito to collect the Tailed Beasts' Chakra. Nagato's character arc was captivating, as he initially sought vengeance against Naruto's Nine-Tails but later developed a personal feud with Naruto himself.

Driven by rage and misguided beliefs, he tragically killed his former master, Jiraiya, and devastated the Hidden Leaf Village to confront Naruto. However, Naruto's unwavering spirit ultimately reached Nagato, leading to his redemption and a change of heart.

3/10 Obito Uchiha

Obito Uchiha

Obito was initially introduced as the masked Akatsuki member, who appeared silly but harbored a hidden malevolence. His involvement brought interesting moments due to his intricate connections and knowledge of the Shinobi world's darkest secrets.

Obito's actions had severe consequences. He attacked the Hidden Leaf Village, causing the near annihilation of the Uchiha clan. He actively pursued the Infinite Tsukuyomi plan and fought on the front lines. Obito serves as a reminder of what Naruto could have become under different circumstances, much like Nagato.

2/10 Madara Uchiha

Strongest Naruto antagonists

He is a central villain in Naruto Shippuden and holds a pivotal role in the storyline due to being one of the strongest villains in Naruto. He represents the foundation of the Hidden Leaf Village and the source of prejudice against the Uchiha clan. Connected to Kaguya's lore, Madara's significance is magnified as he is her descendant.

With his intricate plans, manipulation of the Akatsuki and Obito, and the pursuit of the Infinite Tsukuyomi, he emerges as a compelling final antagonist. Madara's impact on the series and the culmination of prior narratives make him a standout villain.

1/10 Kaguya Otsutsuki

Most formidable opponents in Naruto

Kaguya Otsutsuki is the final big villain in Naruto Shippuden. She's a powerful celestial being who came to Earth a long time ago to eat a special fruit that gave her incredible abilities. She's really strong, almost impossible to kill, and has lots of different powers.

The problem with characters like Kaguya, who are so overpowered, is that they can be a bit boring, which we personally believe happened to her character. Her backstory had potential, but because she was added to the story so late, it's hard for us to care about her as much as we could have.
