Gojo's death in Episode 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 was one of the most devastating scenes that the viewers could have witnessed till now. Our beloved Gojo seems to have died at the hands of the Sorcerer Killer, Toji Fushiguro.
But usually, Gojo cannot be touched due to his Cursed Technique, Limitless. This arises a big question in the Jujutsu Kaisen world, how did Toji Fushiguro manage to break through Limitless? Let's see how he did something so easily that even the greatest fighters couldn't do.
What Happened In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 3?
On the final day of their mission, Riko successfully reaches the foothills of Tokoyo Jujutsu High just after her bounty is lifted. However, their celebration is cut short when Satoru is unexpectedly attacked from behind by a man named Toji Fushiguro. Toji stabs him without any explanation, leaving Satoru puzzled.
Suguru rushes to Satoru's aid, and Satoru reassures him that the injury isn't too severe, thanks to his skillful use of Cursed Energy to minimize the damage. He then asks Suguru to take Riko to Master Tengen's location while he confronts Toji. They all leave the area as Toji manages to escape from Geto's Curse and dispels it.
Toji reveals that he's the one who canceled the bounty on Riko. Satoru attempts to attack Toji using his Cursed Technique called Lapse: Blue, but Toji proves to be incredibly fast, effortlessly evading the assault. Satoru realizes that Toji doesn't use cursed energy at all, relying solely on his exceptional physical abilities.
Toji disappears among nearby buildings, making it difficult for Satoru to track him without relying on Cursed Energy. Suddenly, Toji reappears behind Satoru. Although Satoru notices in time, he's caught off guard by the strange Cursed Energy emanating from Toji's weapon. Toji wields the Special Grade Cursed Tool, known as the Inverted Spear of Heaven, to finish Gojo off.
How Did Toji Fushiguro Surpass Gojo's Limitless?
To the surprise of the viewers, Toji does not use Cursed Energy. However, he relies solely on physical prowess and his arsenal of Cursed weapons. He carries a Cursed Spirit on his back that stores numerous fatal weapons for him.
In order to nullify the effect of Gojo's Limitless, the Sorcerer Killer used a Special Grade Cursed Tool, namely the Inverted Spear of Heaven. This tool has the ability to cancel out any ongoing Cursed Energy Spells that it touches, hence, canceling Gojo's Limitless and ultimately leaving him in the pool of blood.
