Jujutsu Kaisen: Does Satoru Gojo Die In The Series?

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is revealing a lot about Gojo and Geto's life when they were students. As the show is progressing, we find out that even though Gojo and Geto have earned their status as the strongest, Toji Fushiguro is no joke.

Episode 3 of Season 2 is a heartbreaking one as we see that Toji has got the upper hand in the battle with Satoru Gojo. Not only does he overwhelm Gojo, but he even manages to kill him. Let's find out if this is the end of Gojo's story.

What Happened In Episode 3 Of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2?

On the final day of their mission, Riko successfully reaches the foothills of Tokoyo Jujutsu High four hours after her bounty is lifted. Just when everything seems almost complete, Satoru deactivates his technique. But suddenly, he's attacked from behind by a man named Toji Fushiguro. Satoru asks if they know each other, but Toji dismisses it and stabs him.

Suguru comes to help Satoru, who assures him that the injury isn't too severe since he used Cursed Energy to reduce the damage. Satoru asks Suguru to take Riko to Master Tengen's place while he deals with Toji. They all leave the area, while Toji escapes from Geto's Curse and exorcises it.

Toji looks for the Star Plasma Vessel and reveals that he's the one who canceled the bounty on her. Satoru tries to attack Toji with a Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue, but Toji is too fast and dodges it easily. Satoru realizes that Toji doesn't use cursed energy at all, relying solely on his physical abilities.

Toji disappears into nearby buildings, and Satoru can't sense him without Cursed Energy. Suddenly, Toji appears behind Satoru. Although Satoru notices in time, he's caught off guard by the strange Cursed Energy coming from Toji's weapon. Toji uses the Special Grade Cursed Tool called the Inverted Spear of Heaven, which can nullify Cursed Techniques. He uses it to cut down Satoru in a swift and deadly attack, leaving him severely wounded and seemingly dead.

Does Satoru Gojo Die In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2?

As it seems, Gojo has died at the hands of Toji Fushiguro. However, the answer is no, Gojo does not die. As soon as Toji lands the finishing blow, Gojo focused all his energy on using Reverse Cursed Technique. Hence, Gojo's body starts to heal itself, but slowly.

A Reverse Cursed Technique transforms negative energy into positive energy by combining two sources of Cursed Energy and multiplying them together. This unique process changes destructive energy into energy that creates and turns negative energy into positive energy.
